Thigh implants are less frequently requested than other body implants, but are still of great importance to those who need or want them.
When the thighs lack muscle tone and definition despite exercise, or have atrophied due to accident or illness, a thigh implant procedure offers a solution to restoring the aesthetic contours to the upper part of the leg.
A thigh implant procedure is performed in our out-patient surgery center with the patient under general anesthesia.
About procedure
The surgeon places his incision and inserts the implant under the thick coating of the muscle. The implant augments and outlines the muscles forming the thigh, which is located at the upper part of the leg. The implants are selected before the surgery and further customized during the procedure.
At the end of the procedure, the surgeon will suture the incision closed. An elastic garment is placed over the area to reduce swelling and assist in healing.
The surgery takes about an hour and patients are able to return home the same day.
Your legs will be sore for a few days following thigh implant surgery and ate first you will be asked to walk with assistance. Within a week you’ll be able to walk by yourself, without help and will be able to drive. Most people are able to return to work within two weeks following the implant procedure. Three to four weeks after the surgery, patients are able to return to their normal workout routines, including leg exercises.
